Our technology is designed to be an Oasis for your Mind, Body, & Spirit.
WELLNESS AT THE CORE
Most companies don’t care about the psychological and physiological impact of technology on their users. For them, profit is the bottom line and wellness is an afterthought.
At Senkiva, wellness is built into the core of our technology.
We’ve spent decades researching the most effective way to combine mixed reality innovation with advanced therapeutic technology to create revolutionary experiences that facilitate health and wellbeing.
Components of our technology that have generated evidence of clinical value include:
• Nature Exposure
• Virtual Reality Treatments
• Immersive Therapy
• Sound Healing
• Vibroacoustics
• Binaural Frequencies
• Aromatherapy
• Meditation
• Biofeedback
• Relaxation Therapy
What happens when we bring all of these healing modalities together into one integrated delivery system coupled with the latest advances in digital medicine?
We hypothesize that this new approach can generate powerful, beneficial, synergistic effects and is an exciting area of future clinical research.
nature exposure
Exposure to nature, even just images or video of it, engages what has been termed the “default mode” networks of the brain, which is important for peak psychosocial health. During exposure to natural stimuli which produce soft-fascination, the mind may be more able to enter a state of introspection and mind wandering which can engage the default mode.

vIRTUAL REALITY TREATMENTS
Virtual Reality technology offers immersive environments that nudge our brains into thinking we are somewhere else. Dozens of studies have revealed that VR has an uncanny ability to block pain, calm nerves and boost mental health – all without drugs and their unwanted side effects.
IMMERSIVE THERAPY
As much as one third of the US population has experienced an anxiety disorder during their lifetime, resulting in significant loss of productivity, health consequences, and emotional distress. Only a fraction of those with a diagnosable anxiety disorder receive sufficient results with the standard pharmaceutical treatments. Evidence suggests that immersive technologies, such as mixed reality (applied in a specific therapeutic context), may be an appropriate candidate to explore as a treatment.

SOUND HEALING
Throughout history many venerable traditions have utilized sound and vibration as important tools for promoting balance and wellbeing. Numerous studies have demonstrated that sound & music therapy can alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, PTSD, dementia, borderline personality disorder, and autism spectrum disorder. The use of music has been proven to lower the perceived levels of stress in patients, while greatly reducing the physical manifestations of stress as well – such as heart rate, blood pressure, or levels of stress hormones.
VIBROACOUSTICS
Vibroacoustic therapy is a treatment that applies sound vibrations directly to the body in the form of low frequency sinusoidal tones combined with music. There is a growing body of evidence that shows the efficacy of vibroacoustics in promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety, and treating pain. Some the of the proven physiological effects include: Muscle relaxation, increased blood circulation in the body, & reduction of the activity level of the sympathetic nervous system.

Binaural frequencies
When you listen to binaural beats, your brain activity matches the frequency set by the frequency of the beat. This is called the frequency-following effect. This means you can use binaural beats to entrain your mind to reach a certain mental state. According to some researchers, when you listen to certain binaural beats, they can increase the strength of certain brain waves. This can increase or hold back different brain functions that control thinking and feeling.
Aromatherapy
Study after study has shown that no other sense has the power to influence and transport us the way scent can.
The connection between the brain’s hippocampus (the part associated with forming new memories) and the olfactory nucleus is clear — and could lead to new discoveries about how scent can be used in treating not only forms of memory loss, such as dementia and Alzheimer’s, but also for using the sense of smell to enhance memory recollection and improve cognitive learning.

MEDITATION
Mediation, along with a healthy diet and exercise, is one of the three pillars of wellbeing. With promising early evidence that it’s a uniquely powerful solution for our stressed-out, digitally addicted, distracted times, meditation is the anxiety-attacking and focus-restoring choice of everyone from Silicon Valley entrepreneurs to government leaders.
BIOFEEDBACK
Biofeedback is the process of gaining greater awareness of many physiological functions primarily using instruments that provide information on the activity of those same systems, with a goal of being able to manipulate them at will. Some of the processes that can be controlled include brainwaves, muscle tone, skin conductance, heart rate, and pain perception.
Biofeedback may be used to improve health, performance, and the physiological changes that often occur in conjunction with changes to thoughts, emotions, and behavior.

RELAXATION THERAPY
Relaxation therapy techniques calm the body by inducing the relaxation response - the opposite of the body's stress response. Several different exercises used in relaxation therapy include: Deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, guided imagery, and mindfulness. Use of these techniques may improve health, strengthen the immune system, build up resistance to stress, and improve the overall quality of life.
